Having made a recording of your meeting, call or conversation, you may want to create some form of documentary record of what was discussed and agreed.
The 151-151 Sound file management system has various transcription options which can make it quicker and more efficient to create the documents you need, without spending large amounts of time typing.
Using the 151-151 Sound file management console you can create a transcript request to :
- Auto(machine) transcribe the whole recording
- Auto(machine) transcribe the published time-tag periods
- Schedule a human transcription of the whole recording
- Schedule a human transcription of the published time-tag periods
Please Note : Your 151-151 Sound file management account will automatically be configured to allow you to create Auto(machine) transcriptions. However if you require the human transcript option, you will need to request that this option be added to your account.
Auto(machine) transcribe the whole recording
All 151-151 machine transcriptions are scheduled and queued on a Cloud based server dedicated to voice-text conversion. Each transcription request is processed in turn and your 151-151 account is then automatically updated when the transcription is completed.
Therefore, depending on the length of recording and the number of transcription requests queued at any one time, the auto(machine) transcription process will take differing amounts of time to complete. Short transcriptions might be ready almost immediately, but long transcriptions at busy times might take up to 2 hours to complete.
To schedule and create a machine transcript of a full recording, navigate to the Transcript tab of the appropriate record and click/tap the PROCESS menu option on the menu bar.
If multiple transcription options are configured for your account, then select the “Machine Transcript” provider. The “Speech to Text Processing” pop-up will be displayed. Click/Tap the “Auto-Transcribe whole recording” button to start the machine transcription process.
The transcript confirmation pop-up will be displayed which shows the price you will pay for each minute (or pert thereof) of transcription. You will need to click Ok to confirm you accept the charges.
When you click to confirm and start the machine transcription process, the 151-151 database will be updated and your request will be placed in a queue on the speech to text conversion server. When the server has completed your task it will notify the 151-151 database and the transcription results will be inserted into the Machine Transcript field linked to the recording record.
To display the results, simply click the Transcript tab on a recording record and, if necessary, select the appropriate transcription service (I.E. where multiple transcription options are configured for your Account)
Auto(machine) transcribe the published time-tag periods
The 151-151 Sound file management console gives you the option to transcribe only the time periods defined by published time tags.
For example, if you had a recording which was 20 minutes in length, but only wanted to transcribe 2 x 3 minute periods of the recording, you could define both the 3 minute periods as time tags and publish the time-tags. The Auto-Transcribe time-tags option would only transcribe the 2 x 3minute periods of the recording – making a total 6 minutes instead of the full 20 minutes.
As with the full machine transcriptions, the tag transcription requests are scheduled and queued on a Cloud based server dedicated to voice-text conversion and each transcription request is processed in turn.
Your 151-151 account is automatically notified on completion of each individual tag transcription request.
To schedule and create a time-tag transcript, use the same process (see above) as a full transcript, except click the “Auto-Transcribe time-tags” button to start the transcription process.
Schedule and create a human transcription of the whole recording
Scheduling 151-151 human transcriptions essentially uses the same process as machine transcriptions, except the user will chose the Human transcription options/buttons during the process.
Human transcriptions will take considerably longer to complete than machine transcriptions (but currently will be more accurate) and the price may vary depending on the estimated completion time you select. For example, if you select to complete the human transcript within 6-12 hours, this transcript would normally cost more than when you select to complete the transcript within 3 days.
Because human transcripts normally take much longer to complete than machine transcripts, the user will be sent a notification email when a human transcript request has been fully completed.
The results for Human transcripts are displayed in a slightly different way that machine transcripts. Human transcript requests will always result in the creation of Linked Document, which is attached to the 151-151 recording record. Depending on which Human Transcript provider is configured for your account, a “plain text” version of the transcript may also be inserted in the Transcript field of the recording record. This value will be displayed on the Transcript tab.
Schedule and create a human transcription of the published time-tag periods
Again, scheduling a human “tag-transcript” uses the same process as the machine tag-transcript (see above). However, the result will differ in that a Linked document will be automatically created when all the tag transcript completion notifications have been received.
